EDT has launched yet another initiative in Limassol focused on raising environmental awareness and protecting our city and our seas, donating and installing a specially designed “recycling boat” on Aktaia Road, near the Limassol Marina.
The goal of the initiative is to provide residents and visitors to the area with yet another easily accessible recycling site, while reinforcing the message of responsible waste management in one of the city’s busiest coastal areas.
Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis, who attended the installation ceremony this morning, thanked EDT for the initiative, noting that it symbolizes the city’s progress toward a greener and more sustainable future. At the same time, he called on citizens to make use of the recycling stations, helping to keep Limassol clean and beautiful.
For his part, the Chief Financial Officer of EDT Shipmanagement Ltd, Marios Panagiotou, thanked the Limassol Municipality for its cooperation, emphasizing that the company continues to support initiatives that promote recycling, environmental awareness, and sustainable development, thereby making a tangible contribution to the local community.
Christos Marangos, President of MC Media Group, emphasized that protecting the environment is everyone’s responsibility, not just that of local authorities. At the same time, he congratulated EDT on its long-standing contribution to sustainability, noting that such initiatives serve as an example to follow and help create a cleaner and more sustainable society.
EDT is established as a major force in the Eastern Mediterranean, with additional branches in Greece, Israel and Egypt. It owns a fleet of 28 vessels that includes multipurpose support vessels (MPSVs), tugs, offshore supply and survey support vessels, dredgers and barges.
