The Ministry of Defence has expressed satisfaction with the decision of the House of Representatives to pass the bill regarding the voluntary conscription of women in the National Guard, noting that it will continue its efforts to upgrade the operational capacity of the armed forces.
“We express our warm thanks to the members of the House Defence Committee for the good cooperation and constructive dialogue we have had throughout the previous period, as well as to the parliamentary parties that participated in the vote,” the Ministry says on a post on ‘X’.
It stresses that it will continue to work tirelessly, in a spirit of cooperation and unity with all state institutions and the Parliament, with the aim of continuously upgrading the operational capacity of our armed forces and for the sense of security of the people of Cyprus.
